August has been such a busy month. I feel like time is literally passing before my eyes and every night I pray it will just slow down. It’s true what they say that the older you get, the faster time goes by. I don’t like it. Not one bit. During the most overwhelming times, I find myself resting my forehead on the edge of my desk wishing with all my might that I could go back in time and just be a kid again. When I was I kid I absolutely hated when my parents told me to “enjoy being a kid, it won’t last forever“. All I wanted to do was “grow up”…how silly. Now I have to live by myself, cook my own food, pay my own bills, hardly see my family…oh, how I wish I could go back in time.
There has been so much to celebrate this month! First things first, today is my beautiful mother’s birthday! She’ll probably kill me for revealing this, but today she turns the BIG 50! And I feel totally confident bragging that my momma is 50, because HELLO…she is a babe and doesn’t look her age! Nope, not one bit. I really do hope I age like this woman… Well mom, I wish I could be with you on this special day in your life, but you know…that whole “growing up” thing kind of happened and well I’m stuck here for now. Words will never be able to explain how much I adore you. You have been the most amazing mother to me. I know that there were a lot of years I never expressed this to you, but just know that you have been such a big influence in my life. You taught me at a young age to dream and to DREAM BIG. You told me I could do anything I wanted if I just put my heart/mind to it. You taught me at a very young age to write “thank-you” cards for just about everything in life. When I made a mistake you would just simply say, “It’s okay, accidents happen”. You taught me to always treat people with love and if I wasn’t receiving that same love back to told me to “kill em’ with kindness”. So many little things you taught me are the same exact things I will one day teach my kids. And most of all, thank you for teaching me about who Jesus is. You are the best mother I could ever ask for and I’m so blessed to have you in my life. Love you momma.
I just realized I don’t have many photos with my mother, but I did find this one which I adore.

The next BIG thing my family got to celebrate two days ago was my parents anniversary!!! On the 14th of August, my parents have now been married for 29 years!!! HOLY CRAP. That is a long time and I couldn’t be more proud of my parents for that. I may be biased but I absolutely love love love my parents and the way they raised my siblings and I. Nothing ever came easy for us kids. My parents firmly believe in working hard to get what you want…and that is exactly the life we lived. My parents let all of us dream. My parents let me have an imagination like no other. They let me have a weird fascination with bugs…even let me bring my ant farm into the house…(bad idea). And HEY…they even let me believe in Santa until an unhealthy age hahaha…how they did it is beyond me. Besides all that stuff, my parents taught me to be independent and raised me to work hard for everything and I can never thank them enough for this. Mom and dad, I love you two more than anything. Thank you for the life you’ve given me and for always supporting me…even through the roughest times, you never gave up on me. Love you both.
I’m pretty positive I will receive a phone call tonight from my father telling me to take these photos down…but I’ll tell him what I always tell him…It’s MY blog! : )
Enjoy!
