What may seem like a small thing to others…meant a whole lot to me.
A couple weeks ago I was asked if I would display some of my work for Second Thursday Art Walk in West Seattle. Even though my mind instantly made up all the reasons why I couldn’t do it…it’s too last minute, it’s too expensive to put together, it’s scary…BLAH BLAH BLAH. I had to stop and slap myself across the face because this was such a great opportunity! So I did what I had to do…got to work! I stayed up late prepping photos and the next day I was ready to send them out to a lab to get printed! The guys down at Pacific Color here in Seattle were my heros. They had all 13 prints ready and lookin’ gorgeous the next morning, thanks guys! Then I frantically drove around Seattle trying to find somewhere that carried 13 of the SAME frame…apparently no one thinks people just go out buy 13 frames at a time anymore? Weird. 🙂 It all ended up working out though, I got six at one store and seven at another…close enough!
Well the Art Walk was last night, and everything came together nicely. It was a lovely evening and I had some very good conversation with people about my art. I love when people pick my brain about how I created a certain image, it really challenges me. Well as I said before, what may seem like a small thing to others…was just one more tiny door opening for me and my business. I can’t thank Karmen from The Kenney enough for giving me such an awesome opportunity. Below are just a few snaps of my work hanging…it was so cool to see it all printed and displayed! It had such a stronger impact then staring at it on my computer screen 🙂

It was so great having you last night at the Art Walk and everyone really enjoyed your work. Thanks so much for showing your great talent. It was special to showcase a “Grandview gal” and how accomplished you are!
Hope to see you soon!

What an awesome talent!! The photos are beautiful~ we so enjoyed looking at them while spending the weekend with Karm. We would love to have you do a family portrait for us sometime~ what do you think of the old bridge behind the Rose Garden at Westside Park in Grandview for a site? Anyway, great job Tonhya and much luck to you!! Love!
