Q: How long have you been shooting weddings?
A: I threw away the awful black pants and white button up shirt I had to wear as a server in 2010. Best decision of my life. I’m now going on my 4th year as a full-time lifestyle/wedding photographer and I couldn’t be happier about it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: This is always a tough question to answer. My style is ever evolving but some things that remain the same is that I’m in love with anything that embodies natural beauty. I love to keep things simple and clean. I love good light…I mean, I die for good light. I’ve always been drawn toward capturing emotion in people and just playing off the connection my couples have together. It’s all about staying true to the couple while still creating bad*ss images.
Q: Do we need a second photographer?
A: I always suggest that my couples add a 2nd photographer to their wedding package if they are having a bigger wedding (170+ guests). Sometimes I can’t be everywhere at once so it’s always nice to have another person running around capturing the day with me. Especially if you two are getting ready in two different locations. I shoot the majority of my weddings by myself though so I am 100% comfortable without a 2nd photographer.
Q: But like, we are REALLY awkward in front of the camera…
A: Please take a moment to look through my galleries and blog posts. Did you do it? Okay great…listen, almost EVERY single one of those couples said the exact same thing. Promise. And I think they all look amazing, right? I’m going to be there with you every step of the way. If I sense you need more guidance, then I’ll give it to you. And hey, who doesn’t love a little awkward every now and then?
Q: How many photos can we expect to receive?
A: More than you’ll ever know what to do with. Promise.
Q: How long does it take to see our photos?
A: The number one question I receive about one week after every wedding. My sweet darlings, I know you are excited (as you should be!) but I will tell you upfront that I am not one of those photographers that delivers your photos in 1-2 weeks, so sorry. You can expect to see your wedding images within 6-10 weeks after your special day. Thank you for your patience loves.
Q: How many weddings do you shoot in one year?
A: My sweet spot is right around 20-25 weddings a year. I invest a lot of time into my couples and shooting any more than that wouldn’t allow me to do so…or at least it would make it a lot more difficult. I also travel a lot for weddings so sometimes I like to not live out of my suitcase for a week or so.
Q: Can we have the RAW files from our wedding day/shoot?
A: No, sorry.
Q: Do you travel?
A: A thousand times, YES. I am so passionate about traveling for weddings. There is nothing I love more than shooting in a new city or even in a new country. I’ve been so lucky to have clients who have flown me all over just to capture their special day, what a treat! Want to bring me somewhere awesome? Let’s chat.
Q: What does it take to book my wedding date with you?
A: Once we’ve discussed the details of your wedding package, all I require is a signed copy of your contract and a 50% retainer fee.
Q: Does your pricing include sales tax?
A: No. I do a lot of my work outside the state of Washington and New York where I’m not obligated to collect sales tax. The sales tax is now determined by the location of where I deliver your photos to.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Cash, check, and all major credit cards.
Q: Questions I’ll answer once you’re all mine!
A: How do we make the best images possible? Do you need a shot list for the wedding? What should we wear to our engagement session? Can other people take pictures while you do? Where should we shoot?
