A couple years ago I started the La Femme Forte project. Fully embracing it’s literal translation…
“The Strong Woman”
I wanted to create a space where women of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds could come together and share their journey. No one had the same story, some were currently on a new fitness journey, or had recently lost 40 pounds, or who were just about to welcome a new baby into the world, or who were currently struggling with their body image and wanted to do something brave and courageous for themselves. I’ve lost track of how many women and unbelievable stories I have heard throughout this project, but after every single one I am left humbled and grateful. I think I’ve cried after every single one – both out of emotional exhaustion (in a good way) and out of pure joy that I get to do this for a living. The letters, gifts, and texts of kind words I have received from these women have touched me so deeply — but I wish they all knew that just by them showing up and trusting me, that is the biggest gift they could have ever given to me. And themselves.
La Femme Forte has some fun plans for 2017 (one might even include a sleep-over! Stay tuned…) and I can’t wait to continue this project for however long I can keep it going. The core of this project will always remain the same – women empowerment – but it may take on some other exciting things that embody the same message. I’ll forever be on a mission to empower women to see and be the best versions of themselves. For them to see themselves in a new light. For them to love every part of their body, both inside and out. And most importantly, that recognizing what is inside of us will always be more important than the way we physically look on the outside. Your heart and mind should be the most attractive thing about yourself, always.
Now before I share my 2016 Recap for Boudoir, there are a few people I need to thank with all my heart. To all the girls who joined in on the project and trusted me to capture you in your most vulnerable form, THANK YOU times a million. You are the only reason this project has continued to grow. To my partner in crime for a lot of these events (specifically Cali!), Joanne from GOFITJO — you have been a constant source of inspiration and support for this project since day 1. You continue to encourage me and you inspire so many of the girls who come and get to chat with you, thank you from the bottom of my heart! And last but not least, my lovely friend Gaylin who played a big role in helping these girls feel sexy and confident in their own skin. Your make-up is always on point and you are always such a breath of fresh air to have around.

I love! I’ve done some boudoir and this is so my style. I’ve been critiqued by men who have told me it doesn’t look boudoir but little do they know it’s about the women, not them lol these are so soft and sensual. thank you for sharing!
